Actually, the Ski Alpin team of the Austrian women recently went well. Nevertheless, criticism of the trainer came up – this is now deflected.
After the season is before the next. And in between? Training is being carried out – or argued in the case of the Austrian alpine team. Most recently, head coach Roland Assinger was exposed to Tamara Tippler and Stephanie Brunner. The latter complained to ORF that only short runs would be trained in the giant slalom.
Super-G world champion Stephanie Venier, who recently won gold, also followed up and criticized the tone. She told the Swiss “look”: “If a two -meter -tall person faces you and gets loud in your voice, you often feel almost a bit intimidated.” Now Assinger countered Venier’s criticism at ORF and explained that he had partly learned about it from the media.
“If someone makes a gold medal and bronze medal, then not everything will have gone badly in advance,” said the 51-year-old. He added: “Also from the training methods, from the training opportunities, the coaching teams. You drive down the mountain at 140 km/h, this is not a child’s birthday.”
In an interview with ORF, Cornelia Hütter also commented on the debate about ÖSV coach Assinger. The 32-year-old emphasized: “I think 100 percent of the fact that the discussions should be solved in four eyes.” It is clear to them that emotions belong in sports, but they should be discussed at the factual level.
She also stated that clear lines were important: “That makes Assinger well and he also represents his point of view.”
