In the past few weeks, FC Bayern has had to do without Manuel Neuer. That will not change for the time being.
Bayern keeper Manuel Neuer will miss the Bundesliga classic on Saturday (6:30 p.m. in the live ticker on T-Online) against Borussia Dortmund. The “picture” reports. Even five weeks after he was injured in the cheers in the Champions League round of 16 against Bayer Leverkusen, Neuer is not yet returning between the posts.
The keeper suffers from a muscle fiber tear in the right calf. On Thursday, too, the keeper could only train individually, which is why it is also unlikely to use the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Inter Milan.
The 39-year-old trained for around 40 minutes on Thursday morning with rehabilitation coach Simon Martinello and goalkeeper coach Michael Rechner. It was not yet possible to press or jump off with the injured calf.
As in the past few weeks, the new goalkeeper Jonas Urbig has been replaced. When Neuer returns remains uncertain.
