Eva Vedder has given the Netherlands against Germany a 1-0 lead in the qualifying round of the Billie Jean King Cup. The 25-year-old tennis star from Kortenhoef in Noord-Holland was too strong in two sets in the Zuiderpark sports campus in The Hague for her German peer Niemeier: 6-3, 6-1.
