At the Albert Heijn on Boterlaan in Best, a large batch of hard drugs was found between a load of bananas on Wednesday at the end of the afternoon. According to the police, it is ‘a few kilos of hard drugs’.
The drugs were divided into sealed blocks and were found between the fruit by employees. “They called the police and then we picked up the drugs,” a spokesperson reports.
The store employees have nothing else to do with it, the police say. The drugs are being investigated. Probably it is about cocaine, but “we can only officially say that it is about hard drugs,” the police said.
Hedel
The find is reminiscent of that at a fruit company in Hedel (Gelderland) in 2019. At that time, 400 kilos of cocaine were found between a batch of bananas. At the time, the company reported to the police, which seized the cocaine. The company then received many threatening text messages in which large sums of money were demanded.
In the fall of 2020 and in 2021, attacks with fireworks bombs actually followed on houses and houses were shot at. A farmhouse burned completely. It involved a total of fifteen attacks.
The brain behind those attacks was sentenced to 26.5 years in prison at the beginning of April.
