Liza Plat, the ex-partner of Jan Smit, is reportedly less than thrilled about the kitchen in the row house he purchased for her. “This is going to be my fourth kitchen…” she seems to indicate.

Adjusting to her new life, Liza has to leave behind one of the country’s most luxurious villas for a modest row house worth around 450,000 euros. While Jan Smit continues to lead a luxurious life filled with endless money, Liza is entering a new chapter characterized by financial constraints.

A Culinary Crisis

For someone like Liza, this situation is quite shocking. Rumors have circulated about how she previously had three or even four kitchens installed in her marital villa before finally being satisfied, as noted by De Telegraaf.

Upon seeing her new kitchen, she might have felt a wave of shock, says Telegraaf reporter Jordi Versteegden. In a podcast, he remarked, “I’ve seen the inside of that house, and there’s still a lot to be done.”

The Fourth Kitchen?

Celebrity gossip expert Evert Santegoeds shares the same sentiment. “Knowing Liza and her penchant for kitchens—there’s a rumor in Volendam that she had three in the past—she’s likely to want to install a fourth, as this one will probably not suit her taste,” he speculates.

According to him, a renovation is on the horizon. “Most people start with renovating the kitchen and bathroom when they buy a house. There are so many contractors available in Volendam; it shouldn’t take long.”

A Significant Step Back

Jordi thinks Liza’s ego might be taking a hit. “She was somewhat of a queen in that gigantic villa…”

Evert elaborates, “Yes, that’s how she carried herself, and now this feels like a massive step back for her. There has been criticism questioning why she can’t just stay in the villa. The answer is simple: it’s a house worth four to five million euros. That says it all.”

Jordi also raised concerns about where the kids will live. “Will it be a bit back and forth?”

Evert concludes, “I assume they’ll be staying with both of them. They’ll have their own room at Jan’s, and when they’re with Liza, they’ll have a new room there. It’ll all be managed well.”
