The residents of a house on Sprendlingenstraat discovered on Wednesday evening that a bat was stuck in their gas fireplace. The fireplace is closed with a glass plate, which the animal had landed behind.
After some struggle and flying, the bat was exhausted and fell asleep. The fire brigade was warned. They have dismantled part of the stove and removed the window with suction cups so that they could reach the bat. The animal ambulance was also added.
The bat has been transferred to the Vogelasiel in Tilburg. On Thursday the animal will be transferred to a bat care.
