Former Premier League star Yossi benayoun He was at home on Sunday night with his family when a motorcyclist suddenly stopped in front of the house and threw something on the front door.
This was followed by a huge explosion that caused a fire. The building was damaged, but fortunately no family was injured in the rush.
“At first, I thought it was a gas cylinder explosion and we called the fire brigade,” Benayoun says of the events.
The fire brigade quickly arrived and got the fire stopped, but the real shock was still ahead.
– It was only when the police arrived at the house and found the remains of the grenade, we understood what really happened, Benayoun continued.
The former football star was naturally shocked by the knowledge. The man does not believe his family was the target of a grenade attack.
– This was definitely a mistake. I’m sure the grenade is not intended for my house.
The episode took place on Sunday evening in Israel’s Ramat Hasharon, just north of Tel Aviv.
Benayoun is one of Israel’s all -time futures. The midfielder who finished his career in 2019 played 102 national matches and scored 24 goals.
Benayoun played in the Premier League between 2005 and 2013. He represented Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and West Ham there.
