Portuguese football great Aurelio da Silva Pereira has died at the age of 77.
In 1988, Aurelio Pereira founded the recruitment of Sporting Lisbon and the training session, where he was responsible for the development of several best players in Portugal.
He attracted to his doctrine among others Cristiano Ronaldon, Luis figon, Nanin and Ricardo Quaresman. Portugal’s 2016 European Championship gold team had ten players found by Aurelio Pereira. That’s why the team was called “Aurelios”.
In 2017, Aurelio Pereira received a medal from the city of Lisbon. A year later, Uefa awarded him a badge of contribution to the development of Portuguese and European football.
– I will never stop being grateful for everything he did for me and so many other players. Forever, Mr. Aurelio, thanks for everything. Resting in peace, Ronaldo wrote on Instagram.
In its announcement, the Portuguese Football Association stated that Aurelio Pereira could not be replaced by Portuguese football.
