The sales in the retail trade of the euro zone rose weaker than expected in February. In the month comparison, the proceeds increased by 0.3 percent, as the European Statistics Office Eurostat announced on Monday in Luxembourg. Economist: On the other hand, an average of 0.5 percent had expected an average increase.
However, the development in the previous month was better than previously known. Eurostat has revised the data upwards. Accordingly, sales stagnated in January after a decline had previously been reported by 0.3 percent.
Compared to the same month last year, retail sales rose by 2.3 percent in February. An increase of 1.9 percent was expected here.
