Four games without a win. Only five points above the relegation place and a remaining program that has it all. Does the TSG Hoffenheim still have to worry about relegation?
A guided tour of the hand and lost 1: 3: Hoffenheim hurts the defeat in Leipzig, because after four games without a win, the trend curve shows down again. “We are disappointed and angry because there was more in it,” said midfielder Anton Stach after the game in Leipzig. And TSG coach Christian Ilzer summed up: “My team didn’t make many mistakes. But those we made were punished.”
There are still five points ahead of relegation place 16 and 1. FC Heidenheim, who recently lost against Bayer Leverkusenbut in front of it was on the up. Hoffenheim must not rest on the little cushion, strong opponents are waiting in the coming weeks.
A remaining program that has it all
With the exception of Wolfsburg (May 9th, away) in twelve, Hoffenheim only deals with teams from the upper half of the table in the last games. At home against the 1st FSV Mainz 05 (April 12th), away against SC Freiburg (April 19), at home against Borussia Dortmund (April 26th), at Borussia Mönchengladbach (May 3rd) and at the season finale in Sinsheim against German record champions FC Bayern Munich.
We still have six final games.

Hoffenheim is not yet through
What makes you think are the Hoffenheim form fluctuations. Against the supposed relegation candidates Kiel, St. Pauli, Heidenheim, Bochum and Union Berlin, the eleven of coach Christian Ilzer won 7 out of 15 possible points in the second half of the season. If the comparison with Heidenheim is trying again, it becomes clearer how tight things are going down. Hoffenheim, like Heidenheim, only won six times this season and the goal difference is only three goals better than that of the Heidenheimer.
The lead could melt together quickly and then there is a thunderstorm. Especially since Heidenheim with Bochum, Union Berlin and Bremen has the supposedly lighter remaining program on the last three match days. So it is quite possible that TSG Hoffenheim has to fight against relegation until deep into May. The best recipe, on the other hand: victories. The next chance is available on Saturday (3:30 p.m.) in the home game against Mainz.
