In the Leekerweide care institution in Wognum, a person died on Sunday evening after the police assisted in an incident.
Around 6.05 pm the police received a report from employees of the care institution, who asked for help for an unknown reason.
After the police arrived, a person died. Nothing is known about the cause and identity of the victim.
Because the person died when the police were present, an investigation was started by the National Criminal Investigation Department, led by the Public Prosecution Service. They will see if the police action has been “lawful,” said a spokesperson for the OM.
The spokesperson cannot say anything about the incident. The OM will provide more information once the investigation has been completed.
