Care house Het Anker of the Noorderboog Zorggroep in Meppel was struggling with serious flooding last night.

The Meppel fire brigade was alerted late in the evening with an automatic fire alarm at the nursing home on Reestlaan, but once on the spot it turned out that there was no fire, but of flooding in the basement.

A pipeline at the boiler had jumped, so that the space was completely flooded. The fire brigade has emptied the basement. According to a spokesperson, there would be significant damage to various devices in the basement due to the water. As far as we know, the residents kept their feet dry.
