Bankwressers and substituted players often have to make sprints after the game to have some burden. Such a run might have had serious consequences for a Gladbach player.

Borussia Mönchengladbach may have to do without Nathan Ngoumou longer. The offensive player injured himself in a curious way – not in the game, but when leaving after the 1-1 against FC St. Pauli.

Ngoumou was only substituted on Sunday in the 86th minute, should take some runs and sprints after the game as usual to have some game -like stress and to stay in the rhythm. The 25-year-old suffered an injury to the Achilles tendon. According to media reports, there is even suspicion of an Achilles tendon tear.

“It didn’t look good, he is now at the doctor,” said Gladbach’s sports manager Roland Virkus. “It happened in the normal compensation runs that the boys made.”

NGOUMOU had to be supported after the incident and accompanied by two supervisors into the cabin – a clear sign of the severity of the blessing. An exact diagnosis is still pending.
