Season sprint in 3rd league
Trainer steps back after twelve games-ex-player takes over

Two years ago, SV Sandhausen played in the 2nd Bundesliga. In a few weeks there will be a crash to the regional league. The trainer now chooses a consistent step.
Kenan Kocak resigned from SV Sandhausen. The 44-year-old announced this after the 1: 3 of the third division club against SC Verl. Kocak had only signed at the Hardtwald at the end of December. But after a passable start with four points from four games, the coach and his team got into a painful negative series. Sandhausen lost seven of the subsequent eight games.
“I would like to clear the way for a new impulse for SV Sandhausen, who stands above everything.
Eight game days before the end of the season, Sandhausen is in 18th place with 32 points and thus a descent rank. The gap to a non-relegation zone is already five points. Particularly curious: at the end of October, after the 11th matchday, Sandhausen was still the leader. But this was followed by a unique crash in the table, which could now bring the descent.
“It is important that the club comes to rest to focus on the sporty,” said Managing Director Volker Piegsa. Before going to the fourth class, the club should now preserve Gerhard Kleppinger and Dennis Diekmeier in personal union.
Diekmeier, long-time player of Hamburger SV (184 missions), had ended his career in Sandhausen and worked as an assistant coach until the end. Now he should save the club.
Sandhausen’s next opponent on Wednesday is TSV 1860 Munich, who shot Energie Cottbus 5-1 from the home stadium yesterday. Not an easy task for the new duo.
