Max Verstappen had his muscles play at the qualifying at the great price of Japan in Formula 1 – and even grabbed a record by Icon Sebastian Vettel.

Sebastian Vettel no longer keeps the current route record on the Suzuka high -speed route. The four-time world champion of Formula 1 had set it up in 2019, and on Saturday it was replaced by Red Bull superstar Max Verstappen.

The four -time F1 champion also burned a fabulous time of 1: 26.983 on the asphalt during qualifying – and left its worst competitors Lando Norris and Oscar Piatri behind twelve and 44 thousand.

RTL experts Heiko Wasser and Christian Danner illustrated how close the result was. The equivalent of the three top drivers on the five-kilometer route is just three meters. Max Verstappen squeezed everything out of the car that was possible.

Formula1: Marko “surprised” – Verstappen “gets it to the point”

Max Verstappen, who will go to a race for the first time since the end of June 2024 from the first start position,: “We gave the best for the best balance, the last round was full throttle. I was at the limit, maybe even a bit over it.”

Few observers had expected such a result in advance. Even Red Bull chief consultant Dr. Helmut Marko was amazed.

“If it is necessary, then he gets it optimally to the point,” he said at “Sky”.

He said about the increase in performance of the car: “I am surprised. We made a lot of changes to the car and then the referral factor came. He hit a round that we did not think possible.”

McLaren’s competition could also only take the hat. “Hats off before Verstappen, he really conjured up an impressive round, especially if you see his performance in Q3 until the last attempt,” said team boss Andrea Stella appreciative.
