On Saturday, Thomas Müller officially graduated from FC Bayern. Shortly afterwards, Toni Kroos excited with a post.
What exactly did he mean? Some football fans may have thought of this question on Saturday when Toni Kroos’ X-Account believes. There the ex-football professional put an extremely cryptic post off. The 35-year-old only wrote there: “Too many cooks spoil the porridge”.
The 2014 world champion’s speech came a few hours after the farewell of Thomas Müller at FC Bayern was officially announced in the summer. Kroos’ words could therefore be understood as a criticism of the decision of the Munich. At least some fans also suspect that under his contribution.
Müller announced his farewell to FC Bayern in a long statement on Saturday. “Even after all the years, regardless of my minute of play, I still have a lot of fun standing on the pitch with the boys and together for our colors to fight titles,” wrote Müller. “I could have imagined the role well next year.”
However, the association “consciously decided not to negotiate a new contract for the next season with me.” The farewell from Munich is not entirely voluntary for Müller.
Bayern sports director Max Eberl emphasized in January that the decision about his future was alone with Müller. Most recently, however, there had been reports that the supervisory board around honorary president Uli Hoeneß and the ex-board chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge are said to have had concerns about an extension of the contract.
The reason: the rumored annual salary of 17 million euros in Müller. In view of the costly contract extensions by Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies and also Joshua Kimmich and Manuel Neuer, the association is forced to save. Especially since the German record champion is still interested in a commitment of Florian Wirtz.
Kroos now refers to the interference of the Supervisory Board in the work of Eberl and also sports director Christoph Freund.
