The intervention in the public broadcaster is defensible, but there is a limit

The cabinet intervenes firmly with the public broadcaster. Cutbacks should lead to fewer broadcasters that work past each other, fewer owners and fewer ‘kidding’. That procedure is very defensible towards the taxpayer. But the political interference does have a boundary, writes our political reporter Laurens Kok.
