The speculation about the next actor of James Bond does not tear off-and now a 007 legend speaks up in an interview with “Yahoo Entertainment”. Pierce Brosnan considers Aaron Taylor-Johnson (“Nosferatu” 2024, “Nowhere Boy” 2009) to be an ideal successor.

Brosnan praises Taylor-Johnson’s talent

“I think he would be very good,” said Brosnan. Already in the past he stood in front of the camera with Taylor-Johnson, was even involved in his casting-and impressed by the actor’s talent: “I had captured him for the film, time of grief ‘(original title:” The Greatest “2009), which I did a long time ago-and he played’ The Greatest ‘.”

Pierce Brosnan remembers working with Taylor-Johnson: “This young man came to the film set and took the room, filled him with passion and energy. So yes, I think if he wants it, he would strive and get it, then he would be great.” It remains to be seen whether the 34-year-old will actually be the next 007.

Taylor-Johnson is not the only one in the race

The Irish actor excludes his own comeback as 007. “This is the job of another man now,” said the 71-year-old of the German Press Agency. Brosnan embodied Bond in four films: “Goldeneye” (1995), “Tomorrow never dies” (1997), “The world is not enough” (1999) and “Die on another day” (2002).

However, Aaron Taylor-Johnson is not the only candidate for the 007 role. Tom Holland (28, “Spider-Man”) is often mentioned, especially because of his acquaintance with producer Amy Pascal. But another franchise hero next to Spider-Man seems rather unlikely. The sheet “The Sun” also speculates via Paul Mescal (29, “Gladiator 2”) and Jacob Elordi (27, “Saltburn” and “Euphoria”). Both have put a steep career in recent years.

Producers promise fresh start

While the occupation of the new leading role is still unclear, preparations for the next film are already underway. Amazon MGM Studios who have taken over the franchise recently confirmed that Amy Pascal and David Heyman will produce the upcoming Bond film.

At the Cinemacon at the end of March, Courtenay Valenti, head of film, streaming and cinema at Amazon MGM, explained: “We are determined to honor the legacy of this iconic figure and at the same time create a fresh, exciting new chapter for the worldwide audience – together with Amy and David.”

According to Valenti, the two producers are already working on the new film in London, which is supposed to lead the successful 007 series into a new era. The fans are looking forward to further information – and the final decision as to who will follow Daniel Craig’s footsteps.
