A 61-year-old man from Oss was arrested on Thursday evening because he was deliberately run in with a tractor on three swans. That happened in a meadow on the N652 in Lithojien. One of the swans did not survive.
Bystanders saw the collision around a quarter to six and called in Dierenambulance Brabant Noord-Oost. According to the bystanders, ‘the man would be deliberately and full of gas on the three swans’. The animal ambulance then called the police.
The police arrested and took the man. “The deliberate killing or catching of certain animals, such as swaning in this case, is punishable,” says a police spokesperson. “The man was transferred to the police station for further research and interrogation.”
The deceased swan was taken by the animal ambulance. The other two swans were checked on the spot and did not have to go with the animal ambulance.
