Stellantis suspends production

Meanwhile, two shocks concern Stellantis. The Fitch Evaluation Agency cuts the judgment on the Auto Group passing it from BBB to BBB- outlook (forecast) Stable, or from credit of good quality to minor quality credit. The reasons for the drop, explains the agency, are to be found in the worsening of the market conditions of North America and the increase in the pressure on the costs caused by the duties. The first country to respond directly to the United States on 25% car duties is precisely the neighbor Canada. The state will in turn impose tariffs at 25% on the imports of American cars that do not fall into the agreement with the United States and Mexico, the so -called Cusma that replaced the NAFTA. Prime Minister Mark Carley announced it.
Toyota does not increase prices

On the other hand, Toyota, cited directly by Trump in his speech on April 2, does not intend to increase the prices of his vehicles sold in the United States. In 2024 Toyota produced about 3.12 million units in Japan, with over 530,000 cars exported to the United States. The company has made it known that it intends to keep the production and employment levels unchanged.
