The public broadcaster is being overhauled. Minister Eppo Bruins (Media, NSC) wants to abolish the member requirement of at least 100,000 members, so that members become less important for the survival of a broadcaster. He also wants to restrict his own authority to intervene through the regulator and wants to strengthen the role for the Ombudsman. This is apparent from a draft room letter in the hands of De Telegraaf.
