Dennis Rodman now assures via Instagram that he is “alive and that he is doing well”. Previously, false reports about the death of the basketball player on the Internet.
All just a fun?
On Tuesday, April 1, an Instagram post by “Memerunnergpt” claimed that Rodman died of an “autoerotic suffocation accident” and “found in his apartment”. While some fans of the message had initially believed, others criticized the prank. “The claim that someone died for an April joke is a bad joke … do it better,” wrote a user.
In order to make it clear that the whole thing was just a tasteless April joke, the athlete said a photo of himself on Instagram on the same day and wrote: “Yesss Sirr, alive and in a good mood”. His fans seemed relieved by the news. “I swear, I just wanted to look” and “People are strange. I’m happy to see you,” it says in the comments. What the 63-year-old thinks of the whole or whether he even had something to do with the joke is unclear.
More about the former NBA member
Dennis Rodman made a successful basketball career for the United States. In 1986 he joined the NBA for the first time and played for the Detroit Pistons. Later he was part of many other teams such as the Chicago Bulls or the Los Angeles Lakers. In 2006 he ended his career as an athlete and in 2011 he was admitted to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
At the end of 2024 there were already numerous headlines around the former NBA star. His daughter Trinity Rodman is also an athlete and plays, among other things, for the national soccer team of the USA. In an episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast by Alex Cooper, the 22-year-old was a guest and told about the difficult relationship with her father. She explained that the relationship between the two was so negative that she had “lost hope” that this would change again. Shortly afterwards, Dennis Rodman publicly apologized to his daughter in the form of an Instagram post.
The wrong message about Dennis Rodman was of course not the only April Fool’s joke that could be fallen into. For example, Cardi B posted a video of her with a “Raising Can’s” sauce.
