Salihamidžić about Hoeneß: “Have pronounced us”

After a turbulent season, Hasan Salihamidžić had to go to FC Bayern in 2023. Now he reports on a pronunciation with honorary president Uli Hoeneß.
The release of coach Julian Nagelsmann, the commitment of Thomas Tuchel and the winning of the championship in the very last minute: The 2022/2023 season was a turbulent for FC Bayern – and the last one for Hasan Salihamidžić as the sports director of the association.
After a very late winning goal in Cologne, the players still cheered on the lawn, when Bayern announced that they would part with both board boss Oliver Kahn and Salihamidžić. Both had already learned about their release beforehand. However, while Kahn stayed away, Salihamidžić still traveled to Cologne and cheered over the championship title in the stands.
Nevertheless, “Brazzo” still needed some time to process his Bayern off. In an interview with the “Sport Bild”, he now explained: “I am at peace with FC Bayern. It took me time to sort everything that happened.”
With Bavaria Honorary President Uli Hoeneß, he has now also clarified everything. “Last November I met Uli Hoeneß on Lake Tegernsee,” said Salihamidžić. “First we played sheep head, my old companion Jens Jeremies and Uli’s son Florian were at the table. After that, Uli and I stayed in pairs, and we spoke out. Uli and I have been friends for more than 25 years,” said FC Bayern player.
He will always be connected to the club and is proud of his achievements as a player and as the person responsible for Bayern. “FC Bayern will stay in my heart forever. Of course I also take a look at every game if that is possible,” said Salihamidžić.
To be responsible at FC Bayern is “not always the simplest and most pleasant job,” he said. But: “The bottom line was great fun to work in this function at Bayern.”
