The Wolverhampton Wanderers have extended the JOão Gomes (24) contract by two years. The Brazilian midfielder signed a new working paper by June 30, 2030, including an option for another season.

Gomes had come to the Wolves in the winter of 2023 for a basic loss of 18.7 million euros from his home from Flamengo, where he was able to quickly fight for a regular place. To date, there are 80 missions in which he contributed seven goals and three templates.

Gomes was able to increase its market value in the dress of Wolverhampton from 15 million to 40 million euros. The midfield player, who debuted for Seleção in March 2024 and has played ten international matches since then, is the second value of Wolves-Profi behind compatriot Matheus Cunha (25).

“He has great potential and can become a top player,” said coach Vítor Pereira about the Gomes called “The Pitbull”. “He gives 100 percent every time, in training. And he has the quality of helping this team and this club to take the next step. At the end of the game, he gave everything for the team, he defended, he attacked, he supported his teammates. And that is what we need in our team is the spirit that we need in this club.”
