If you want to participate as a citizen researcher, don’t pick up a dead bumblebee with your hands. “There are many products on it, which then end up in the bumblebee,” explains Channa. “Pick up the animal with a plastic bag or tweezers and save it in the freezer before sending it to the bee foundation.”
“What would also help is buying organic, native plants,” Channa continues. “Plants from garden centers are full of pesticides. That is really a problem that needs more light to be shot on.”
