He was twice the fastest man at the Frankfurt Marathon-now Brimin Misoi Kipkorir from Kenya stir-up off the track. The independent Integrity Commission (AIU) of the World Athletics Association has blocked the 35-year-old for five years because of doping.
Misoi Kipkorir was demonstrated by taking the blood doping agent EPO and the body draining by means of furosemide. The latter can be used to disguise the use of other forbidden substances.
The lock applies retrospectively from February 17, 2025 – from this point on, the long -distance runner was temporarily suspended. In addition, all results have been canceled since its positive rehearsal of November 22, 2024.
Misoi Kipkorir was originally supposed to get the maximum penalty of six years due to aggravating circumstances. But the athlete showed insight, accepted the sanction. Therefore, the sentence was reduced by one year. The successes at the Frankfurt Marathon in 2022 and 2023 remain.
The Ethiopier Alemtshay Asefa was also blocked by the AIU – but for another reason. The long -distance runner had repeatedly violated the obligation to stay in the residence in 2023.
