The Dutch officials Franca Overtoom, Shona Shukrula and Dennis Higler make their appearance this summer at the European Football Championship for women. The KNVB reports this on its own website. Overtoom will be active in Switzerland as an assistant referee, Shukrula as the fourth Official and Higler as a video referee.
“It’s great that we are represented with three arbitrators at the upcoming European Championship,” says Raymond Van Meenen Referee Affairs Manager of the KNVB. “Both Franca, Shona and Dennis have been active in European competitions for a long time. The appointment for this final round is a nice reward for their performance.”
Shukrula and Higler make their debut at a large final tournament, although Higler was already active in youth tournaments. In recent years, Overtoom has been an assistant var on the World Cup for women and assistant referee at the Olympic Games.
The European Championship is on the program from 2 to 27 July. Orange plays in the group stage against Wales, England and France.
