The manipulation scandal around the Norwegian ski jumper is still not fully worked up. Nevertheless, the suspended people should now train again.

After the manipulation scandal around the SkiSprung World Cup in Trondheim, five Norwegian athletes can now take part in training again. The Ski World Association FIS said on Tuesday that the preliminary locks had been lifted.

“The preliminary suspension of the athletes was necessary to ensure the integrity of the competition. After the end of the 2024/2025 competition season, this edition is eliminated,” said the FIS.

Among other things, the top jumpers Marius Lindvik and Johann André Forfang can again participate in units and events of the Norwegian ski association. However, the examination by the FIS ethics and compliance office has not yet been completed. The ethics committee then decides on possible consequences. The suspensions of three Norwegian officials remain.

The case had become public about three weeks earlier after stressful video material had appeared at the World Cup. Norway’s sports director Jan-Erik Aalbu then admitted manipulations on the jump suits. At the same time, he emphasized that neither the affected jumper nor he himself had been informed about the specific interventions.

In addition to Lindvik and Forfang, Robert Johansson, Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal and Robin Pedersen were also affected.
