For mill De Berk in Barger-Compascuum, the demolition ball threatened, but it became a makeover. With today an image -defining procedure: the placement of the beam work.
It is thanks to volunteers that the mill is back in (almost) optimum condition. The necessary hands were used to support the monumental face of the Veenpark. For the most large -scale procedure, however, outside help had to be called in.
“I am standing here with crooked toes, because I would rather help,” Molenaar Klaas Renting admits in a territory way. “But this big work is not reserved for volunteers.”
