At Club, Coach Hayen opted for the same names as two weeks ago against Charleroi, with the trident Tzolis – Nilsson – Jutgla. In the two previous mutual duels that Club and Anderlecht already finished this season, Blauw-Zwart always pulled the longest (2-1 and 0-3) and the home team immediately took the initiative today. Already after three minutes, an alert Coosemans was needed to take a header from Tzolis out of his goal.

The opening phase set the tone for a first half in which a dominant club chose the map of the attack. Ferran Jutgla had an excellent opportunity in the 23rd minute to translate the predominance, but the Bruges striker shot over from a promising position. On the other side, a further invisible Dolberg stuck the nose on the window for the first time, but his staircase was not framed.

In minute 34, the ruling champion still received wages for work. Christos Tzolis kicked his team with a ball out of reach of Coosemans earned the lead. Just before that, the Anderlecht goalie had tapped a nice shot from the Greek from under the bar.

Club now pushed on and shortly before the break scored a second time via Jutgla. However, that goal was rejected after a VAR intersection because the Spaniard Coosemans had knocked over in a preceding phase while he had stuck the ball.

Anderlecht had to tap out of a different keg in the second half. Coach Hasi therefore threw three fresh forces into the fight, but the game image hardly changed. Club continued to hand out the sheets and create danger. Again Jutgla stood at the cannon, but he found Coosemans on his way. The Purple & White achieved a little more football because of the input of Edozie and Huerta, although Mignolet experienced a quiet afternoon.

The home crowd continued to wait in a sun -drenched Jan Breydel for the redeeming second goal, which would eventually fall in minute 70. Coosemans did not reject a shot of Vanaken, after which the substitute Romeo Vermant tapped the leather from a box.

Moments later, Anderlecht escaped a third counter goal when a pretty long shot of the Cuyper splashed on the bar. In the final phase, a supreme club held the double lead then trouble -free.

With this smooth win, Blauw-Zwart already refueled a lot of confidence for the continuation of the play-offs and for the cup final against the same Anderlecht at the beginning of May.
