Pedersen accelerated more than 50 km from the line from a small leading group and then drove solo to the fiftieth victory from his professional career. At the line in Wevelgem, the Dane had a little less than a minute ahead of a group of pursuers, in which Tim Merlier won the Sprint for the second place of the Italian Jonathan Milan.

Sam Maisonobe, Jasha Sütterlin, Marco Haller and Emils Liepins provided an early attack. After 22 kilometers of course, Victor Vercouillie, Max Walker, Samuel Leroux, Alexys Brunel and Rui Felipe Alves Oliveira arrested. The peloton gave this nine a maximum fortress of 3:45.

Mads Pedersen continued on the polder plain of the nuts. That tempo acceleration ensured that the peloton shattered in various fans. It took a while for range one and two to merged. Victor Campenaerts taught himself to the leading group and joined it on the Baneberg, the second slope of the day.

Vercouillie had to release on the Kemmelberg. At the sequence of the Plugstreets, the leading group splashed further and in the front only remained Oliveira, Campenaerts, Walker, Brunel and Haller. Pedersen shot a new arrow behind them, while Olav Kooij fell heavily and Jasper Philipsen had mechanical defect.

Just before the Monteberg, Pedersen, Arjen Livyns, Sam Maisonobe and Emils joined the leading group. Pedersen went through again at the second passage on the Kemmelberg and hit a hole on Livyns, Campenaerts and Haller. The peloton followed 1 minute. At the last time, Mads Pedersen had Kemmelberg, with 34 flat kilometers ahead, one and a half minutes ahead of the three and 2 minutes on the peloton. Campenaerts, Livyns and Haller were grabbed 25 kilometers from the finish, while Pedersen continued to move to Wevelgem as a metronome. Good for his third victory in Wevelgem.

The 29-year-old Pedersen won a stage and the final classification of the Tour de la Provence and a ride in Paris-Nice earlier this season. On Friday he became second in the E3 Saxo Classic in Harelbeke behind an unleashed Mathieu van der Poel.
