The toddler was in a child seat in the back of the car while his parents were in the front. Somehow he managed to get his hands on his father’s gun and started playing with it. The gun went off and a bullet hit his mother, a 22-year-old woman, in the neck. She was rushed to hospital where it was determined she had died.
The police have arrested the father. It is being investigated whether he legally possessed the weapon and whether he will be charged, police said.
