Under the guidance of local resident and gardener Wannes Ureel and a group of volunteers, the existing park was given a new destination. During work afternoons, young and old helped with the construction. “We are proud of the first urban food park in Belgium, from and for the neighborhood, where the fruits will be reaped literally and figuratively,” says Ureel.
In the future, the trees will receive information boards and workshops will be organized on pruning and processing pruning waste. This way the park not only remains a place to garden, but also to share knowledge and skills.
