An 85-year-old man from Delden in Overijssels died early this afternoon after a serious accident on Moleneinde (N855) in Diever. Assistance was no longer of any use.
A second occupant, a 62-year-old woman from Delden, was injured and taken to hospital. The police report this.
The impact broke the car in half. This caused havoc on the road, with the front and rear of the car on opposite sides of the road. The police closed the road for emergency services and the investigation.
It is not yet known how the accident could have happened.
