The rapper and actor died at the age of 46.
Rapper Nashawn Breedlove passed away on Sunday, September 24th at the age of 46. The musician’s family has now confirmed this. He died in his sleep while at his home in the US state of New Jersey. The cause of death is unclear.
Nashwan Breedlove is best known for his role in Eminem’s partly autobiographical drama “8 Mile”. In the 2003 film he played the role of Lotto, who competed in a rap battle against the character of “Mockingbird” artist B-Rabbit. Mickey Factz also shared this scene in a social media post in memory of his good friend. “RIP to one of the few emcees who beat Eminem…Lotto by 8 Mile. Who was affectionately called OX by his friends. We will miss you for your tenacity and aggressiveness,” mourns the New York rapper.
Breedlove also provided part of the soundtrack to the 2001 hip-hop film “The Wash”, starring Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg starring was released.
Breedlove’s mother Patricia officially announced his death on Facebook on September 26th. “Nashawn was a rapper, singer, songwriter and actor. Nobody could deny his talent. Nashawn’s departure from this world has left a huge void in my life that words cannot fully express. I cannot put into words the pain and hurt I feel. He wasn’t just my son; he was a remarkable man whose character and strength inspired all who crossed his path. I love you, my son, nothing but death can separate us,” she remembers her son.
