The police arrested a 33-year-old man from Oudenbosch in Ede on Wednesday after almost 600 kilograms of illegal fireworks were found in his van.
The huge, forbidden cargo came to light during a check on the Verlengde Arnhemseweg. The man has been arrested and taken in for questioning, the fireworks have been seized.

According to the police, the charge could have had serious consequences. “With these amounts of heavy, illegal fireworks, you can safely speak of a moving bomb. Tackling the trade in illegal fireworks has high priority for the police and the Public Prosecution Service.”
