60-year-old driver gives chase with the police

A 60-year-old driver was in a chase with the police in southern Brandenburg and rammed two radio patrol cars. A police officer was slightly injured when the man attacked him.

The police wanted to check the 60-year-old on Tuesday after he had grazed a motorcycle with his car at a rest area on the A13 motorway near Kittlitz (Oberspreewald-Lausitz), the police department south reported on Wednesday.

However, the man locked himself in his car and fled in the direction of Dresden. At the Bronkow exit, the man left the autobahn and raced down a country road at excessive speed.

In Massen (Elbe-Elster) the fugitive was stopped in a roundabout by police vehicles.

However, he rammed into two squad cars and escaped down the sidewalk.

In Finsterwalde, the 60-year-old was finally caught by officials. He attacked the police and slightly injured an officer. He was then restrained and taken to a hospital on suspicion of a mental state of emergency.

According to the police, the two radio patrol cars were no longer roadworthy.
