The first festival evening ended in a big party. Oostdenaar Red Sebastian, originally our representative at the Eurovision Song Contest, brought a mix of his own songs and well -known covers. Not only the fans who had been in front for hours, but also the rest of the square danced and sang loudly.
A surprise act with best friend, actor/presenter Manu Van Acker, created an extra highlight. Together they brought the Ostend classic “gie see mien sea capiting” by Lucy Loes.
“It is very special for me to be on the podium of the Paulus parties, the festival where I went a lot as a child,” said Red Sebastian. “My friends and family are here. My grandparents are in the audience, it is the first time in a long time that they see me perform. This is the most special show of the entire summer for me.”
