A 47-year-old woman from Goirle died after she was hit by a car on Thursday morning. At the intersection of the Lage Wal and the Hoge Wal in Goirle she collided with a car. The woman was resuscitated and taken to hospital, but she later died from her injuries.
The accident happened around half past ten when the woman wanted to cycle from the Oude Beeksepad towards the Stappegoorweg. She was probably hit by the driver while turning. That was a 30-year-old man from Hooge Mierde.
Immediately after the accident it was clear how hard the blow must have been. The windshield of the car was severely damaged, as was the right front. The tracks in the adjacent meadow show how the driver of the car swerved after the collision.
The woman was resuscitated on the spot and was urgently taken to hospital. She died there later that day from her injuries. The police are investigating how the accident could have happened.
