During the raid on a house on Burgemeester Wijnenstraat in Asten, 400 hemp plants, dozens of kilos of fireworks and raw materials for drugs were found on Wednesday afternoon. The police announced this. The resident of the house is still missing.

Officers decided to check the house after investigation revealed that fireworks may have been stored there. When no one was home, they entered the house. They soon found a cannabis farm in the shed near the house. The power for the nursery was illegally tapped and the water meter had also been tampered with.

Shortly afterwards, several dozen kilos of fireworks, several types of drugs and raw materials for synthetic drugs were found in the house itself. Initially, officers also thought that some of the items might be possible explosives. Therefore, the street was closed for safety. The area was only released again after an inspection by specialists from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service.

The items have been seized, as has the resident’s van. It has not yet been found.
