Lively first half between SCF and BVB

Coach Julian Schuster had changed his Freiburg team to four positions and asked for a reaction to the 1-2 defeat against Union Berlin in the previous week. In fact, the Freiburg broke into the game, attacked Dortmund early and gained a first opportunity over Patrick Osterhage and Vincenzo Grifo – but the Italian’s shot from a short distance was blocked (9th).

But also the Dortmund, who competed with three -era as in the previous week, came into the game properly and sparked with Maximilian Beier (4th), Daniel Svensson by head (10th) and again Beier (25th) in the initial phase.

In the balanced and entertaining game, it was the Dortmund that set the first goal of activity: Beier falsified a BVB degree in the direction of his storm partner ADEYEMI, who exploited explosively, pre-tie on Lukas Kübler and ended in the short corner. Freiburg tried an answer in the first round, but the largely stable defensive of the Dortmund was not allowed anything until the break whistle.

First big chance for Freiburg right after the restart

Less than 30 seconds were played in the second round, when the greatest chance to score Freiburg to date opened: Lucas Höler extended Grifo’s flank on Ritsu Doan, who did not get past Gregor Kobel in the vigilant. Shortly afterwards, Doan tried in vain from a distance (48th).

The Freiburg pushed for the equalization – but BVB struck again. As a result of a counterattack, the striking debutant Chukwuemeka came to the ball and pulled off the distance. Philipp Lienhart was unhappily forgotten, so that Florian Müller could only watch the Freiburg goal as the ball sailed in the middle of the net.

Increase Guirassy and Gittens

Freiburg also shook the second goal at first. Junior Adamu failed from the near distance of the again strongly reacting carer (54th), Doan scored just past the goal from twelve meters (57th). And yet it wasn’t the afternoon of the SCF. After a strong dribbling and Pass from Chukwuemeka, Julian Brandt was through, who unselfishly put on Guirassy. Dortmund’s top scorer (now 15 goals) easily pushed into the decisive 3-0.

Frustration spread near Freiburg, the Dortmunders noticeably gave security. Julian Ryerson’s flank was almost undisturbed, the substitute Gitten was almost undisturbed – it was now really bitter for the hosts. Goalkeeper Müller could hardly be distinguished because BVB occurred extremely efficiently, unlike in the past few weeks.

Eggestein scored a goal in the final phase after Doule’s preparatory work, but real cheers no longer appeared at SC.
