3rd League | Jahn Regensburg is Christmas master

Jahn Regensburg said goodbye to the winter break of the 3rd football league with an important victory and will celebrate Christmas as league leaders.

The second division relegated team fought back to win 2-1 (0-1) after being behind at SpVgg Unterhaching on Tuesday evening. After two recent draws, Regensburg scored three points again.

Noah Ganaus (56th) and Elias Huth (62nd) turned the game around in a very short space of time, after Markus Schwabl (23rd) had put Hachinger in the lead. Leaders Regensburg (45 points) cannot be overtaken by Dynamo Dresden (40) on Wednesday, the Saxons will play at Arminia Bielefeld at the end of the year (7:00 p.m./MagentaSport).

Things continue to be extremely tight behind the top duo. SSV Ulm (33) suffered a 1:2 (0:1) draw at 1. FC Saarbrücken and only holds on to third place by the narrowest of margins. Rot-Weiss Essen turned the game around in a 3-2 (0-1) win against Halleschen FC and is now level on points.

FC Ingolstadt (32), on the other hand, dropped points and only scored 1-1 (1-0) against Erzgebirge Aue. Saarbrücken (30) is now also close to the promotion zone thanks to the win against Ulm.

VfB Lübeck is going into the break with a little more hope, the 2-1 (2-0) at SV Sandhausen was the first win in two months for the traditional club. Interim coach Bastian Reinhardt achieved something worthwhile in his second game, but Lübeck (17 points) is still in a relegation zone.
