“30,000 euros gone”: pigeon fanciers jealously guard their prize animals after as many as 12 burglaries in 2 months

At least 12 pigeon cots have been broken into in the past two months. The Royal Belgian Pigeon Association speaks of a real plague. “I can’t rest for a second anymore,” says Luc Vervoort (70), from whom 14 pigeons were stolen in the middle of the night a week ago. “Total value about 30,000 euros. But because they were unable to get my most expensive prize pigeons, I fear that they will come back.”
