Spectacular lava columns rose more than 300 meters into the Hawaiian sky, while the Kilauea volcano experienced a new, powerful eruptive episode on Christmas Eve. The event marks a significant milestone: one year since the beginning of a continuous eruption, albeit characterized by intermittent phases. According to reports from the US Geological Survey (USGS), the southern mouth of the volcano reached a maximum height of approximately 430 meters offering a spectacle as impressive as it is disturbing. At the same time, the northern vent released lava fountains about 270 meters high.
