3 bus campers stolen: 10,000 euros reward for golden tip

Juan Vos did not know what hit him when he entered the storage of his motorhome company in Giessen on Friday morning. There were no less than three so-called bus campers, a small quad and a lot of kitchen equipment missing. “All our pennies are in that stash.” Juan offers a 10,000 euro reward for the golden tip that ensures that the loot is recovered.

Hours after that painful discovery, Juan Vos van Termeer Campers is still shocked. “It all has to sink in a bit, I believe. At the moment, disbelief prevails.”

Not surprising, because how do you steal three of those campers? “We have now seen it back on camera images from the neighbour. Three men arrived late on Thursday evening in a white Renault Traffic. It seems that they opened the roller door with a kind of jack. Real professionals.”

“I estimate that the damage is between 125,000 and 150,000 euros.”

They then left with two campers. “Probably fully loaded. We also miss 12 refrigerators, 35 stoves with sink and a small quad.” Shortly after midnight, the trio returned for the rest of the loot. “Then they brought a third bus camper.”

The damage? That is certainly more than a ton. “I still have to make an inventory of everything,” says Juan emotionally. “But I now estimate that it will be between 125,000 and 150,000 euros. And the insurance was not yet complete, so the question is whether we can recover anything from that. All our money was in that stock.”

“Those thieves need to get out of the way.”

What makes it extra sour is that the stolen items can never be far away. “Those thieves must be from the area. Otherwise they couldn’t have come back here so quickly to steal the second part.”

At the same time, Juan hopes that someone in the area has seen something strange. “We are offering 10,000 euros for the golden tip. Certainly not nothing. But if you look at the value of the stolen items, we are happy to talk about it.
