“When you have such an appearance today in a phase like this with so many defeats, where you saw that we are a really good unit – we were of course really happy to win in the last minute,” said Fürth coach Thomas Kleine in the Sportschau interview.

Before the game, the Fürth team had been winless in five league games and were the shooting gallery of the 2nd Bundesliga (30 goals conceded). The pressure on Fürth coach Kleine was correspondingly great.

Entertaining initial phase

Aware of the importance of the game, his team got off to a powerful start in the Ronhof sports park. Fürth pressed high and looked for the direct route forward. The first goal of the game belonged to the cloverleaf. But David Abrangao clearly missed the short corner (5th).

Münster survived an entertaining initial phase unscathed and then set its own tone. The Prussians repeatedly found gaps on the Fürth side’s left defense.

Futkeu’s hit is not given

The home side stayed true to their courageous approach and almost got their reward after half an hour. But Noel Futkeu’s goal after a cross pass from Felix Klaus did not pass the VAR check (29th). Six minutes later there was the next VAR setback for Fürth when an alleged foul on Klaus in the penalty area was deemed not to be worthy of a penalty. Fürth remained dominant in the game until half-time and was mostly able to stop Münster’s transition game.

The goal from Noel Futkeu (l.) was conceded after a VAR check.

After the restart, the hosts’ first chance came from a set piece. Julian Green put a free kick from 23 meters just over the crossbar (54th). Almost in return, the visitors almost took the lead, but substitute Babis Makridis failed to get his header to Silas Pruerock’s goal after a long throw-in from Jorrit Hendrix. As a result, Münster had more of the game and played the game more openly.

Hendrix hits the post

In the final phase, Fürth’s goalkeeper testrock took center stage. The keeper directed a powerful shot from Hendrix onto the post and saved his team from falling behind with a great reflex (87th).

In return, the Ronhof celebrated again when Aaron Keller shot low into the short corner after a through pass from a good 14 meters, but the joker was offside (90th).

Dehm-Hammer makes the decision

The scene of the game then occurred in the fifth minute of stoppage time. Dehm took courage from 24 meters and caused lasting cheers in the Ronhof with a remarkable direct pass.

“It was pure instinct. The ball came relatively slowly, which is always good for a long-distance shot. And then I hit it really well,” the winning goalscorer described his goal in the Sportschau interview.

The victory not only means the end of the losing streak for Fürth, but also the second home win since the season opener on August 3rd against Dynamo Dresden (3:2).
