The new chapter, 28 Years Laterpromises to be equally intense, with a screenplay by Alex Garland, author of Ex Machina. The film, which will arrive in Italian cinemas on June 19thfeatures actors of the caliber of Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-JohnsonJack O’Connell, Alfie Williams and Ralph Fiennes.

The plot, even more intense and mysterious, unfolds almost three decades after the contamination started inadvertently by three animal rights activists who, in an attempt to free laboratory guinea pigs, started the disaster. Meanwhile, the Rabies virus has ravaged the worldbut some survived they still live in isolation. In an age where quarantine is the norm, some have managed to build a fragile existence on a protected island, connected to the mainland by a single causeway and extremely protected. But the return to civilization it’s more dangerous than they can imagine.

The protagonist, one of the survivors, undertakes a mission that takes him to the heart of the mainland. Between dark secrets and unexpected horrors, he will have to deal with the changes of the survivors themselves. A world that, although devastated, still hides traces of wonder and fear.
