2500 runners, 150 of which are competition runners, will appear at the start of the Meppel City Run on Sunday 22 May. The trail runs through the city center.
Competitors can choose from two distances: 4 miles and 8 miles. There is also a kids run and a G-run for people with disabilities. The Kidsrun is also a sponsor run at the same time. All proceeds go to the Youth Fund Sport and Culture.

The medals for the runners of the Kidsrun and G-Run were made by clients of Cement day spending from Meppel.
150 volunteers participate in the event, including students from Drenthe College and 32 refugees from Syria and Afghanistan.
