21 Savage: Biopic was just a PR stunt

The rapper revealed that the trailer was just a “parody.”

US rapper 21 Savage announced a biopic called “American Dream: The 21 Savage Story” at the beginning of the year and released a trailer for it. His role should be played by Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino and “Stranger Things” actor Caleb McLaughlin. The announcement came at the same time as his new album AMERICAN DREAM, which was finally released on January 12th and would form the soundtrack for the film.

Now he has revealed in an interview with “Club Shay Shay” that the alleged trailer was just a PR stunt for the new record AMERICAN DREAM. The trailer was only intended for the album and not for a separate film. In his words, the clip is simply a “parody”.

Biopic idea still possible

However, the 31-year-old does not deny that a documentary film could ever be made: “I have the feeling that one day it could become a real film. Now people would hate it though. They would say, ‘Why the hell does Savage deserve a story, a movie about him?'”
