The profile of the 20th stage of the Tour de France 2025

Status: 26.07.2025 10:28 a.m.

Profile and assessment – the 20th stage of the Tour de France 2025 at a glance

Assessment: On the penultimate day of the tour there is a flat stage in the tour book (live stream from 12.35 p.m.). On closer inspection, however, it is only flat at the beginning of the day. At the latest the last 50 kilometers to the destination Pontarlier very close to the Swiss border are hilly and enormously profiled. At least Pontarlier is at an altitude of over 830 meters. Pure sprinters will have trouble staying here. It is much more likely that the day winner will come from an outlier group, the formation of which guarantees the actual tension of the day. It is the chance for those teams and drivers who had made up for a lot, but have so far left empty on the tour.
